7 March 2015 - Oh we do like to be beside the seaside...

This Saturday morning I grabbed the opportunity with the recent dry weather to take a trip down the coast and blow the weeks cobwebs off.

It was quite windy and a little bumpy although straight down runway 20 so no cross wind fun and games to contend with. On final approach it was about 18 gusting 22 knots. At 2000ft it was about 30-40 knots. This gave me a very healthy 120 knot ground speed on my eastern leg chasing the Thanet Coast.

Anyway, from Rochester I went down the Thanet Coast to the North Foreland and down to Dover before turning back to Canterbury and the slow 'put put' back to Rochester.

I bought a new 500k map before leaving for home. Southend has new controlled airspace coming into effect 2 April 2015 which should be interesting come the time.
